On October 23, 2025, the Fort Hamilton High School (FHHS) Tea Ceremony Club participated once again in the school’s Club Fair—our third year joining this event.

Interest in the Tea Ceremony Club has grown remarkably this year, and over the course of five hours, we welcomed 320 visitors. It was especially heartwarming to see many teachers bring their students to our booth and say they “highly recommend” the club. More than 60 students who tasted matcha and traditional Japanese sweets for the first time signed up to join on the spot.

The growth of our current members was also awe-inspiring. Our new club president performed the tea ceremony with confidence. At the same time, other members took initiative in kage-date (behind-the-scenes preparation), preparing sweets, welcoming guests, and creating our display board. Thanks to their dedication, the fair was warm, lively, and a great success.

With many new members joining us, we look forward to sharing the spirit of chanoyu and the beauty of Japanese culture throughout the coming year.
