🍁 Autumn Chakai at the Seattle Japanese Garden tearoom “Shoseian”

We hosted a one-day “Autumn Chakai” (tea gathering) at the Seattle Japanese Garden tearoom “Shoseian,” welcoming guests who registered in advance for three tea sessions throughout the day.

During the peak of the autumn foliage, participants first enjoyed a demonstration of the thin-tea service from the veranda, followed by a quiet moment inside the tearoom.　Seated on tatami, guests were served Japanese sweets and a bowl of matcha, offering a peaceful experience in harmony with the beauty of the season.

With the growing global interest in matcha, many guests asked thoughtful questions about the history and culture of chanoyu. These conversations created a warm and friendly atmosphere that we were truly delighted to share.

We look forward to continuing seasonal tea gatherings at the garden, sharing the spirit of Japanese culture with our community.

🍁 シアトル日本庭園「紅葉市民茶会」

シアトル日本庭園・茶室「松声庵」において、紅葉の季節に合わせた「紅葉市民茶会」を開催しました。

色づいた木々が映える庭園では、まずテラス席にて薄茶点前のデモンストレーションをご覧いただき、その後、茶室に進んでいただきました。畳の間で、日本から取り寄せたお菓子と抹茶を味わいながら、皆様には静かで豊かな秋の時間を楽しんでいただきました。

世界的な抹茶ブームもあり、茶の湯の歴史や作法について多くのご質問をいただき、和やかな対話が自然と広がりました。一服のお茶を通じて心が通い合う、茶の湯の魅力に関心を寄せていただけたことを大変嬉しく思います。

今後も四季折々の庭園の風景とともに、日本文化の魅力をご紹介してまいります。
