Demonstration and Workshop by Omotesenke Style Chanoyu Club at Penn State

Event Date: 9/5/2023

A new semester has begun, and new club members have joined. The demonstration and workshop were the first club activities of the new semester, and 17 members participated.

Divided into two groups, they practiced wari-geiko at the table and temae in the tea room. In the tea room, the participants found it challenging to sit in seiza. They also commented that while the wari-geiko was challenging, it was enjoyable and relaxing.

Thanks to the efforts of the club members and instructors, club activities resumed last year and have finally returned to an atmosphere like before the pandemic. We are hopeful that this trend will continue.
