「日本の伝統と今を紹介・発信する」をテーマに開催されている「ジャパン・フェア」は、毎年ベルビュー市のコンベンション・センターで二日間にわたって催され、２万人を超える観客数の動員があるとてもよく知られた日本文化イベントです。 コロナ禍の中、今年は「世界をつなぐジャパンフェア」をテーマとし、YouTubeでのライブストリーム、プレミア動画の公開、Zoomセミナーなど、盛りだくさんの内容を届けるバーチャル企画での開催となりました。6時間のライブストリーミング開催中は、３８団体の動画、10本の Zoom セミナーなどが中継されました。シアトル特別地区からも、一般の皆様に親しんでいただける様にと、「茶の湯紹介の動画」を制作し参画いたしました。 制作内容は、一般市民の皆様にこれまでご参加いただいた過去の茶会やイベントでの写真画像などを用いて、社中の有志と皆さんと制作して公開してみました。プロが制作した動画ではありませんでしたが、webサイトでご参加された皆さんに「茶の湯」の楽しみ、興味・関心、気づきをお届けできたのではないかと思っております。
Japan Fair is a free, two-day festival in Bellevue, WA that celebrates Japanese art and culture. Formerly known as "Aki Matsuri," Japan Fair is a communal endeavor of musicians, artisans, community organizations, and businesses from both Japan and the U.S. who come together to share their products, talents, and knowledge of Japan. This annual event allows individuals, organizations, and community groups come together to celebrate Japanese culture – all in the heart of Bellevue!
Through live performances on stage, hands on exhibits, cultural workshops, and vendor booths, the public is immersed in the music, dance, artisanry, and philosophy of Japan. This year, the Virtual Japan Fair brought exhibitor’s enthusiasm to visitors’ homes. 6 hours live-streaming, 38 videos, 10 zoom seminars. The Seattle special district also offered an Introduction of Chanoyu in the form of a short video. (below)
