The students were divided into two groups. One group was taught by an instructor in the classroom how to perform the intricate movements of making tea on a table. The other group was taught in a tea room with tatami mats how to be guests and learn the "temae" procedure of the tea ceremony. Later, the two groups swapped places, ensuring everyone got a chance to learn different but equally important skills.
ペンステート大学「茶の湯クラブ」の活動報告です。AとB２つのグループに分け、Aグループはテーブルで割稽古と呼ばれる点前の手順の練習をし、Bグループは茶室で1人がお点前し、他の学生は客の稽古をしました。その後交代をし、点前と客の両方の稽古ができ充実した1日となりました。又その後の感想会ではお菓子によって同じお抹茶でも味わいがとても違うことが理解できたとの声もあり、繊細な味を楽しむ余裕ができてきました。今後も自習クラブで予習と復習をし、点前をすることの意欲も回を重ねるごとに学生のやる気が湧いてきているのが分かり、続けていくことの重要性が感じらました。
