We successfully completed the Spring Tea Ceremony Event at The Place 229 in NYC, "Innocence of Flowers." The first seating at 1 pm was sold out with 15 guests, and the second seating at 3 pm was almost sold out with 12 guests. The theme of the day originates from part of the Zen words: "With an innocent mind, flowers lure the butterfly. With an innocent mind, the butterfly visits the blossoms." On this occasion, we were able to not only enjoy the beauty of May flowers via tea ceremony but also ponder and appreciate the laws of nature and how they relate to our lives. We had many questions and comments from our guests, and the guests had a good time! (So did we, the staff members!).

今回の茶会はテーマを「花無心」としました。これは「花無心招蝶 蝶無心尋花 （花無心にして蝶を招き、蝶無心にして花を尋ぬ）」という言葉から来ています。両席ともほぼ満席となった茶席にご参加いただいたお客様からは、たくさんの質問やコメントをいただきました。みなさんとても興味を持ってくださり、また、楽しんでくれたご様子でした。５月の花の美しを愛でるのはもちろんのこと、でも、それだけではなく、無心に咲く花とそこに訪れる蝶から私たちが学ぶことができる宇宙や自然の摂理について、お客様と共に思いを馳せ味う機会となりました。
